I Wasn’t Living My Dream

I wasn't living my dream
I wasn’t living my dream

Since exiting the corporate rate race  I have had the opportunity for the first time in living memory to take some time out to reflect.

Time that I have not had for many years.

One of my primary drivers for making my decision to turn my back on the security of a corporate job was to be a more present Father and Husband, and I have been able to reevaluate my values as parent and what makes me happy.

Through reflection, one of the key things that has occurred to me is that I simply have not been following my own dream for the last seven years.

I was following someone else’s for an easy life.

And this resulted in me feeling unhappy, disengaged and not passionate about what I was doing.

Now that I am following my dream of focusing on Ideas4Dads full time and inspiring others to be even better parents, I now feel happy for the first time in years.

Yes turning my back on the security of a salary and bonuses and share schemes and all the other trimmings that come with it is very scary (and exciting) but I know in my heart that I am doing the right thing.

My dream is to do something where I can help others and make a difference.

A friend of mine often says make your work your passion and you need never go to work again.

This is something I hope to achieve!
